Recognizing lack of self-application in today’s youth, a small group of friends sought to eradicate the apathy and sloth in adolescents, in an attempt to substitute it with an interest and willingness in the passion driven sport of basketball. Having years and years of experience in the fast-paced game and atmosphere of Filipino basketball, This ambitious circle of friends took the initiative to launch their own basketball league in York Region in 2006. The York Grizzlies is a non-profit organization, registered under the CCRA, catering towards kids of ages 7+, getting them involved in the passionate and highly competitive game of basketball. Their main mission is to shape future generations into disciplined, respectful, passionate leaders of tomorrow, who can appreciate the struggles and triumphs of what it means to be a part of a team and instilling them the value of hard work.
